Every physician’s story begins with a single application. At the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, that first step runs through AMCAS, the American Medical College Application Service. Here’s everything you need to apply with confidence.
AaMCAS handles the verification and distribution of your application to each medical school on your list, including ours. You can reach AMCAS at amcas@aamc.org or (202) 282-0600 with any questions about the platform itself.
A few things to keep in mind as you apply:
Send your transcripts to AMCAS, not to us. One complete set, submitted through the application service, is all that’s needed. Transcripts sent directly to the Zucker School of Medicine will not be processed.
Once AMCAS verifies your application and forwards it to us, you’ll hear from our admissions team by email. Add medicine.admissions@hofstra.edu to your safe sender list so nothing important lands in spam.
Apply with AMCASAll applicants will automatically receive an email invitation to complete a secondary application if the following criteria has been or is being met:
- Completion of, or in the process of completing, a bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. or Canadian college or university (degree must be completed prior to matriculation)
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or hold DACA status
- Completion of or registration to take the MCAT exam within the last 3 years (the final MCAT exam accepted for the cycle is the last test date given in September)
