ADMISSION
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Basis of Medicine
Where Curiosity Becomes Discovery
The PhD in the Molecular Basis of Medicine at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell is designed to prepare individuals for investigative careers in disease-related, translational research.
The program welcomes students with a BA or BS who want rigorous training in biomedical research and a chance to do work that matters at the bedside.
What sets it apart is its focus: every participating laboratory, whether engaged in basic or applied studies, is oriented around disease. Students train at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, where they learn alongside investigators whose work is already shaping how illness is understood and treated. The goal is straightforward and ambitious: to graduate scientists who will continue to perform the disease-related studies that transform medical practice.
