MD/PhD FAQs

Accepted MD/PhD students are awarded a scholarship to cover full tuition and fee expenses and receive an annual stipend. Visit our Cost of Attendance page for current stipend details.

MD/PhD students can complete the PhD portion of their degree at either the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research or Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

While grant writing is not required during PhD years, it is strongly suggested, encouraged, and supported.

MD/PhD students complete lab rotations during the summer between their first and second years. Most students complete two rotations, though additional rotations are available for those still exploring labs that align with their research interests.
